KOKO FIGURA Koko FiguraKoko FiguraKoko Figura In 2016, my grandma gifted me a camcorder for Christmas, which led to me spending the rest of the holidays running around and filming the celebrations. I formed an in-depth connection with the camera, until I was moving houses and lost it. Years later, while looking through my belongings, I found it hidden among a stack of CDs, old books and cables. The timing could not have been better, as I had just finished my high school exams and my life began to blossom again. The camera became my third hand, I filmed my friends, family, nature- everything I found beautiful. Fast-forwarding to this November, I was editing a longer video which compiled all of my short ones. I started taking screenshots of the stills and these five photos are some of my favourites.I prefer the stills to the regular photos I take because if the viewer is intrigued enough to ask about the whole video, then I can play a game. A game in which I ask about their assumption of the story, then show the actual footage and we compare the two visions. What inspires me now? After reading issue #223 of The Red Hand Files – Nick Cave’s blog – I have been trying to seek inspiration in everything I see. I aspire to be a little vampire running around Paris and sucking up the most from all that is happening. HELOISE Rapture ZineRapture ZineRapture Zine My zine Rapture features articles covering the hardcore rave scene in London, from the music to the fashion and the community. It’s written by myself and a number of contributors from within the scene, and includes lots of photos. I’ve published 2 issues so far and I’m working on the third! I’m currently really inspired by Hauntology; Mark Fisher's writings on music; the similarities between raves and cult-like practices, and all the creative work my friends around me are making. Also, loving the sun now that spring has sprung! CHLOE MCGEE Chloe McGeeChloe McGeeChloe McGee This is the beginning of a project where I document the end. I graduate from my university in exactly two months and, as I face the slew of lasts, I photograph my friends incessantly. Depicted are my friends/roommates in my beloved apartment (which I will also be leaving and will miss terribly). Although I am excited to become a real, functional person in the world, I want to create an archive of the last few moments I have with these special people before true adulthood swallows us whole. I’m inspired by mornings, clutter, excessiveness, crumbs. QUINN LOVERO Quinn LoveroQuinn LoveroQuinn Lovero This is a selection of images from my personal projects. I like these because they are unhinged products of my imagination, what I see and what I notice. Most importantly, these are the things I’d like to see, materialised into images and still frames. Hope they add a bit of flavour to your endless internet scroll, even if just for a split second. And if you hate them, then I’m sorry but we can't be friends. I’m currently inspired by UNCANNY, Walid Labri and my baby nephew. Join Dazed Club and be part of our world!
