The track was recorded for Amazon Prime’s upcoming series Hanna, based on the 2011 film of the same name. It’s not the first Karen O song from the Hanna soundtrack: the Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman also released its theme song, “Anti-Lullaby”, earlier this month. Where that song was a short, haunting, acoustic number, the “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” cover is far heavier and more industrial. The Pumpkins called the cover “beautiful”.
