Eva Nip

What has the response been towards your collection since graduating from the MA?Exciting feedback. A new way of looking at millinery. Modern versus 60s. Product versus fashion. People seem to get very excited and surprised when they see the collection.
Will you be continuing to design under your own name or are you be looking to join a fashion house / company?I would definately like to continue creating pieces under my own label, Eva Nip, and developing my graduate collection into more commercial pieces. Besides that i would like to work for companies on a freelance base, to broaden my knowledge of commercial fashion, where my interest lies and get more security and to have an income that will fund my label.
How much difficulty are you finding succeeding as a designer in your own right now you have graduated? At this stage, just after graduating, its quiet difficult to say something about that, but I think that the difficulty lies in the fact that you don't have anyone from college supporting you: you need to do it yourself now.
How was your experience at the RCA?Very good. I got to know my strengths as a designer and as a person, and learned to combine those two at the right moments and to seperate the two when its necesary. I learned how to become a strong individual. And met loads of nice people, its a community with a lot of inspiration! It breaths passion!
What is inspiring you at the moment? As always: practical wear/tools/hardwear. Everything outdoor. Kiting. Camping. Summer.
What are you plans for the rest of the year? Will you be doing another collection? My first focus is to get a freelance possition and to keep on being busy at design level. I will keep on collecting and 'mind-traveling' slash designing, maybe this will leed into a new collection.
