Part philosopher and part magician, Rozendaal has created a digital playground at newrafael.com. Links are his see-saws and swings: "Iamveryverysorry" drips hollow animated tears, multicoloured worlds spin, tingle and collide on "Futurephysics", his separate domains are messages and puzzles, with constant variations and new alignments. Dazed: "What do you think is the most exciting development we're likely to see on the web in the next couple of years?" Rafael: I think Google was started by aliens, a lifeform from another galaxy far more intelligent than us. They noticed we had started connecting our primitive computers (internet) and they saw their opportunity. Right now they offer superior search, email and web applications but this is just the beginning. They control 80% of online advertising and keep growing. These aliens will not blow up our cities and eat our brains, it is control with a sense of humor. They will observe humans trying to keep up, but slowly they will offer so many good services we can do nothing else than to follow them and give them all our money. Even when they monopolize our planet in every business conceivable, they will allow humans to start new competing companies, because they enjoy to see us try and fail.
