The Brooklyn-based production duo Tanlines, are made up of musical lovers Jesse Cohen and Eric Emm from former bands of course. Their signature lo-fi breed of fuzzy analogue and tropical electronic elements are evident in their own productions whilst they've dabbled in remixing the likes of The Tough Alliance and Telepathe. Having released a single on Young Turks and their debut EP on True Panther, they're now on tour with Julian Casablancas and Telepathe.

Q&A
Dazed Digital: Your site is particularly 'flash'y, do you feel bright flashing colours and mad waves represents your music well?
Jesse & Eric: Maybe, yeah, but I don't think it's over the top. I think we're pretty low-key about our visual aesthetic. Neon beige. Muted Coogi.

DD: How would you describe your work? What is it inspired by?
Jesse & Eric: Experimental Pop. Early 90s pop music from a foreign country that doesn't actually exist.  There's also a genre called Crossover that we made up, and some of our stuff sounds like that.

WHAT'S…
...so special about you, then?
Well, Jesse is a leap year baby.  Eric once auditioned for Lauryn Hill.

...your worst vice?
No guilty pleasures in the 2010s.

…the story behind your name?
It's kind of a riff on the amount of time spent in front of a computer necessary to produce even the brightest, warmest summer jam.
