Music / IncomingThe Rizla Invisible Players Tour 2008At Rockness, The Big Chill, Bestival, and, soon, East Village.ShareLink copied ✔️October 31, 2008MusicIncoming The Rizla Invisible Players tour is having a storming second year. The project is based on Rizla’s heritage from the 1920’s where they had a travelling troupe of musicians laying on impromptu parties in a travelling musical van. This year there was a whole new line-up of party hosts, including Annie Nightingale, Justin Robertson, Greg Wilson and Kid Acne. The musical van has travelled the length and breadth of our muddy pastures starting with a trip up north to the banks of Loch Ness for the very fine weekend that is Rockness. The new 1920’s themed Rizla Arena with palm trees, new lighting, period cinema style screen and fat soundsystem provided a perfect playground for revellers to get an afternoon groove on, and let rip at night. Highlights included Maurice Wilson, Justin Robertson and Graeme Park.Next stop was The Big Chill, where the van was the most upbeat venue on site, and the hosts were joined by Horse Meat Disco and Richard Norris; then Bestival, which was headlined by Greco-Roman, featuring Joe Goddard from Hot Chip, accompanied by the awesome and slightly spooky MC Drums of Death and Secretsundaze's James Priestly. To round off the tour there’s a last hurrah on 14th November at East Village in London. Headlining will be Chicago House legend Derrick Carter, hotly tipped electro whizzkids Heartbreak with a rare DJ set and Hacienda legend Greg Wilson. Escape the algorithm!
