FashionIncomingPrints CharmingAn exhibition at Liberty that has just opened sees the history of their iconic print fabrics updated by six British artists.ShareLink copied ✔️August 13, 2009FashionIncomingPrints Charming Liberty have played their most prized and iconic card by launching their 'Prints Charming' exhibition that celebrates everything from their classic florals and geometric prints to their more abstract experimental designs. The main feature of the exhibition will be the new range of exclusively created fabrics, The Art Collection designed by six British artists including the Turner Prize winner, Grayson Perry. Also designing will be Paul Morrison, Michael Angove taking images from his childhood as inspiration, Anj Smith a surrealist painter, Mike McInnerney, and Simon Hart a successful West Coast artist. Fusing the work of these artists with the innovative creations from the Liberty Design Studio, fourteen exclusive prints will be included in the Autumn Winter 2009 Fabric Collection. There's also archive imagery celebrating the many many collaborations that Liberty fabrics has featured in, with an illustrious and diverse partners such as Nike, Kate Moss for Topshop, Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony, A.P.C. and Junya Watanabe. The exhibition opened last week and events celebrating Prints Charming have rolled on. Grayson Perry, one of the artist collaborators officially launched the exhibition by dressing up as his alter-ego Claire in a liberty print babydoll dress. The Liberty-print loving public can also get involved today by turning up at 6pm for a Liberty Fash Mob.To tie in with the exhibition, Liberty is producing a range of merchandise featuring the new artists' designs in cushions, scarves, stationery amongst umbrellas and washbags so visitors can take home a piece of Liberty heritage.The exhibition 'Prints Charming' 2nd September on the fourth floor of Liberty.
