Opening at the Place Beauvau, the store has been designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi in tribute to the Mirabeau Bridge, the first bridge in Paris to be created from metal. The space features prominent windows that invite the outdoors in, illusory perspectives and a spacious double storey layout. The store will stock a selection of women’s ready-to-wear as well as accessories and footwear. The collections will be displayed in a space that recollects the cosmopolitan, outdoors life of Paris including lavishly dressed mannequins arranged to recreate a common street scene. Moreover, in the spirit of the historical brand, the shop floor features black and white chequered marble flooring, a throw back to the kind iconically used in Prada’s original 1913 Milan store. The bridge motif also features heavily thoughout the store and is carried through both levels. While the first floor is furnished with lilac carpeting, sofas and stoic bronze display cases, the second floor draws on a softer aesthetic with beige velvet and a myriad of mirrors furnishings pervading the monochrome rooms. The Prada temporary shop is at Place Beauvau 92, Paris.
