Steven Hall and Yurika Ohara graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design of the BA Fashion Design Womenswear course in 2003. While on the course the design duo fell in love and eventually got married in September 2004. Finally they started their own label Hall Ohara in 2005 and moved to Japan in 2007.

For A/W 09 season, Hall Ohara presents Ready! Steady!! Go!!! collection. It's a message to Japanese people who have been brought up and spoiled in the present-day Japanese society and educational system. "We feel that many Japanese people are not living their lives to the full, so we want this collection and animation to represent a living for today attitude and to act as a message to Japanese people who have withdrawn themselves from society. Life is for living and not sitting in your room by yourself and playing your PSP for umpteen hours".
