Written entirely by the teenagers themselves, guided and assisted by editors at the magazine, the stories include interviews with anti-violence campaigners, a tongue-in-cheek investigation into which youth tribes hate each other and why, and a boy’s first-person account of coming out as gay in his mother’s birthday card. Some teenagers shot their own photography, while others were photographed by the magazine to reveal the faces behind the ideas.Renowned designer and photographer Hedi Slimane presents a personal 34-page fashion portfolio of British youth, styled by the magazine's creative director, Nicola Formichetti, including a 14-year-old Jessie and 17-year-old Louis who feature on the issue's two covers DazedDigital.com also made three of Slimane's images available in advance, along with a downloadable Dazed cover template, asking teenagers to create their own covers, the best of which are showcased in the Teenage Takeover section.Other teen-related features in the Teenage Takeover issue of Dazed: 24-year-old Richard Milward, acclaimed young author of Apples (Faber, 2007), spends a week with teenage boxers in the East End’s Repton Amateur Boxing Club.
